indeed sometimes your not likely to no ur ill till just before. i think the points should be taken off if you fail to turn up without given any warning

that would be the correct option imo .
I agree with this. 24 hours in some cases is not possible. It may have to be done case by case. Look at the other week when we had to can the game in the morning due to unforseen illness and I couldn't play one week when I was ill on the Saturday but couldn't let anyone know until 5pm. Would that mean it's -5 points? I agree that some warning must be given but there are unforseen circumstances sometimes.

Could I suggest that it becomes a larger point deduction if the week that you miss unexpectedly happens to coincide with the week you were to be emergency goalie cover?
